Siobhan is a Melbourne-based specialist hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) and general surgeon. She has expertise in managing complex liver, pancreas, and biliary conditions - including advanced pancreatic cancer and minimally-invasive and robotic surgery - with a commitment to safe, evidence-based care.
Dr McKay sees patients privately at Northern Private and Latrobe Private, and holds public appointments at Northern Health, Eastern Health, Western Health, and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Training & Qualifications
Dr McKay completed her HPB training at leading centres including The Alfred (Melbourne), Royal North Shore (Sydney), Austin Health (Melbourne), Queen Elizabeth (Birmingham, UK), and Royal Stoke (Stoke-on-Trent, UK).
She holds dual Fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS), as well as a PhD in the molecular biology of bile duct cancer from Imperial College London.
She is active in academic surgery and has presented award-winning research at international conferences. Her current research focuses on improving outcomes in pancreatic and liver surgery through international collaboration.
Teaching & Leadership
Dr McKay is passionate about surgical education and mentorship, and serves on the Academic Surgery Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
She leads robotic HPB training initiatives as the HPB lead for the International Medical Robotic Academy (IMRA) and has been recognised for her commitment to advancing surgical knowledge through global teaching workshops and conference leadership.
